The beautiful medieval village of Koskinou,
known since the 5th century, is one of the villages whose houses retain important examples of traditional architecture with many facades, beautiful examples of folk neoclassicism and wonderful interior decoration. In the SW of the village are the ruins of a small castle. One of the most beautiful parts of the island is Kallithea, built on a picturesque pine-covered bay with the famous healing springs that treat kidney and liver diseases and have been known since the 7th century BC. The Kalithea building complex, designed in 1930, is perhaps the most beautiful example of modern architecture on the island of Rhodes.
